Technical theory and explanation will be supported through a range of hands-on activities. This workshop is suitable for anyone who requires basic image manipulation or optimisation techniques for the creation of printed and onscreen images. No prior understanding or experience of digital imaging or image editing applications is required. **Improve your Photoshop Skills - 20th July 2005 The aim for this workshop is to build on a working knowledge of Photoshop's tools and commands for creating and optimising digital images within a practical context. It is suitable for anyone who has a basic understanding of Photoshop, but wishes to extend their practical image editing skills and theoretical knowledge. **Advanced Photoshop Techniques - 5th August 2005 This workshop provides a developed understanding of Photoshop's tools and features for modifying and optimising digital images. It is suitable for technicians and project staff, who have a good understanding of Photoshop for creating and preparing digital images, but who wish to fine-tune their skills. Primarily aimed at those processing colour critical digital images and those who require sophisticated manipulation techniques. **Building a departmental resource - 11th August 2005 This workshop aims to demonstrate the steps for creating, maintaining and delivering an image collection. Through a range of hands-on activities, attendees will investigate suitable Image Management Systems (IMS), be introduced to Metadata, and consider its practical application. It is suitable for anyone who wishes to construct and publish simple image collections, including academics, technicians and library staff, who are developing a departmental resource. **Create and animate vector graphics using Flash - 16th September 2005 This workshop will introduce the underlying theory and provide a practical understanding of the use and properties of vector graphics within the Flash environment. It is suitable for non-technical professionals, who wish to create animated graphics for use on the web, or in presentations. This workshop requires no prior knowledge of using Flash, though some understanding of digital imaging would be an advantage.
