Copac and OpenURL (with apologies for cross-posting) Copac is now OpenURL compliant, so you can link from your service to Copac through this means. We are also linking from Copac records to library OpenURL resolvers. Access to Copac through OpenURL ------------------------------- If you wish to create links from your service to Copac using OpenURL, the base address for Copac OpenURL access is: http://copac.ac.uk/openurl Copac uses standard OpenURL parameters. You will find more details on the Copac Web site at: http://copac.ac.uk/interfaces/openurl/ Links from Copac records to Library OpenURL resolvers ----------------------------------------------------- If you do a search using the Copac V3 experimental interface, you will find that each Full Record display now includes an OpenURL link. Selecting this link will take you to your own library OpenURL resolver - if you have one. If not, it will take you to the general access resolvers LitLink and getCopy. Copac V3 is accessible from the Copac Home Page (http://copac.ac.uk/) For some library OpenURL resolvers this facility seems to work well, leading the searcher from the Copac record to a check on their local catalogue for the item, and/or to their inter-library loan service. However, other resolvers assume the requested item is a journal article, which for a service such as Copac is generally not the case. You might like to look at the way your own library resolver is responding. If the OpenURL link in the Copac record doesn't automatically take you to your own OpenURL resolver, this may mean your resolver is not registered with the OpenURL Router at Edina: http://openurl.ac.uk/doc/ We would very much appreciate feedback on these OpenURL developments.
