Open Access and Institutional Repositories

ALISS One Day Conference 

British Library Conference Centre

On 26th July ALISS (Association of Librarians and Information Professionals in the Social Sciences) will be holding a one day conference on the topical issue of Open Access and Institutional repositories in the UK. It will include presentations from ongoing projects and practical tips from practitioners. The speakers will  include:


David Prosser - Director of SPARC Europe on the work of this organisation in advocating open access models of publishing < http://www.sparceurope.org/>

Dr Steve Proberts  on the aims and progress of the SHERPA/ ROMEO Project which is funded by JISC / CURL and is investigating issues relating to open access. < http://www.sherpa.ac.uk/index.html>

Morag Greig Project Manager: Advocacy [DAEDALUS] on issues relating to copyright and open access and the development of the Daedalus project at Glasgow University. http://www.lib.gla.ac.uk/daedalus/


Sally Rumsey e-Services Librarian , LSE Library on the establishment of  LSE Research Articles online, a new repository based at the London School of Economics and Political Science.  < http://eprints.lse.ac.uk/>

Pauline Simpson, University of Southampton on the TARDis Project which has been developing an e-Prints Repository at the University of Southampton. < http://tardis.eprints.org/>
