Extract from the blurb
Information literacy is a hot topic in the information
world, having been described as the key to the information society. It is
widely taught in schools, colleges and universities, and is increasingly being
regarded as an important competence in business and industry.
Library/information workers have a great deal to contribute
in developing information literacy in their organisations, both by example, and
by participating in teaching, training and resource development.
This course gives both a thorough understanding of the
concepts, and practical skills for developing and promoting information
literacy, so that participants will be able to take the lead in this area
within their organisation.
