How will
Google scholar and metasearch engines change our lives?

(Academic Services Manager, London South Bank University) will be
addressing at the forthcoming Joint IFM Healthcare and Libraries for
Nursing Study Day, Monday 14 November 2005 at Leeds University
Library
The E-learning and
information literacy: initiatives and challenges Study Day will be an opportunity to share experiences and gain ideas
and will consist of a mix of presentations, group discussions and opportunities
to explore some on-line resources. It will also
cover:
- Challenges for information literacy
- Key e-learning themes and developments
- Implementing an information literacy audit in the context of
nurse education
- Creating multiple choice questions for a virtual learning
environment for nurses
- E-learning for health librarians
Alison Brettle
(Salford University) and Joanne Greenhalgh (Leeds University) will be leading
the workshop: How do we assess the effectiveness of information skills
training? This is an update of the extremely popular workshop held at
the HLG conference in 2004.
Registration: The cost of the study
day, inclusive of lunch and refreshments, is:
- IFMH or LfN Members: £65 + VAT = £76.37
- Non-members: £80 + VAT = £94.00
- Students/Unwaged: £30 + VAT = £35.25
