Title: Information Literacy: more than skills
Date: Tuesday 8 February 2005
Time: 6.30 pm
Venue: The Sekforde Arms, Sekforde Street, London EC1
Speaker: Sheila Webber, University of Sheffield

Sheila Webber will outline her view of information literacy, and why
she thinks it is important to see it as a subject domain of
importance to all citizens and not just a set of skills.

Sheila is a Lecturer in the Department of Information Studies at the
University of Sheffield, and a Fellow of CILIP. Her current interests
include information literacy and weblogs (see
http://ciquest.shef.ac.uk/infolit/). Previous jobs include Lecturer at

Business Information Service and Manager of BLAISE Online
Services.

CILIP in London evening meetings are free and open to all with a
professional interest in the topic. Refreshments will be available
afterwards. As space is limited, please let us know if you are
