Hi Maureen Leeds is routing databases with IP access through WAM, but we have some which are still controlled via Athens and others again which have individual passwords. For those with individual passwords, we store the details on a secure web page, and provide a link from an "authentication" field in ERM. Likewise, if the resource requires Athens, then we can provide a link to information about Athens passwords. We do still issue Athens passwords, but are moving over to AthensDA so that staff and students can use their Computing Service login and password (if they have one!! - not all at Leeds do, so beware). As far as I can see at the moment the only supplier which does not offer IP control is Butterworths's. Also Digimap requires an Athens account. Therefore only law and geography students (at Edge Hill) will require Athens accounts. I am concerned that I have overlooked something. I am assuming that all resources which can be IP controlled can be accessed off campus using WAM but.. My questions: If you use WAM, do you still create Athens accounts for all students * whether personal or using Athens DA? Do you have any resources, which offer IP access BUT do not work with web access management?
