New 'Digital Copyright' e-book published by Facet Publishing

New title includes weblinks, one-click navigation and customisable sample
forms

'Digital Copyright', Facet Publishing's first e-book, has been specifically
written for electronic use. It is not simply a pdf of a conventional book,
but is searchable, optimised for the viewing and using on screen and full of
weblinks to relevant resources. It can also be cross referenced between
chapters and sections at the click of a button, and has customisable sample
forms in Word format. On top of these features, users can make their own
comments and insert their own bookmarks in the document.

'Digital Copyright' examines how copyright applies in the electronic
environment and asks whether digital content is treated differently from
hard-copy material, and if so how.

Topics covered include:

* Database right
* The application of copyright to websites and intranets
* The use of screenshots in presentations
* Hyperlinking and deep linking
* How the copyright exceptions apply to digital content
* Licences, contracts, or a set of terms and conditions
* The interface between copyright law and contract law
* Model licence agreements
* The Copyright and Related Rights Regulations 2003 - including the new
offences, particularly relating to the removal or alteration of rights
management information; and the question of circumventing technological
protection measures such as digital rights management systems
* Digital signatures
* Relevant legal cases
* Further reading.

Two basic licences are offered: single user and single site. However, if
neither of these options suit, please contact the publisher.

When e-book orders are processed (including confirmation of the appropriate
licence agreement) the customer will be sent an envelope with instructions
and a unique user name and password enabling them to download the e-book from
the special e-book microsite. E-book orders, like traditional book orders,
take up to 5 days to process and dispatch.

Take a look at the special microsite at
www.facetpublishing.co.uk/ibriefing/index.shtml for further information
including a recent article in 'Update' by Paul Pedley and sample content from
the e-book.
