The root certificate released by the new NIIF CA and packaged by EUGridPMA as version 0.28 rpms (ca_NIIF-0.28-1 with certificate 3cffa61f.0) was incorrect and is NOT the certificate actually used by the NIIF CA. This error causes utilities such as egd-fetch-crl to fail to validate the published revocation list. There are no security implications from this error and very few NIIF certificates have been issued to date so few users are inconvenienced. EUGridPMA may update the rpms to fix this problem but, to avoid too many continuous updates of the trusted certificates, it is suggested that EGEE/LCG resource admins. should not need to update to a new release automatically. A request to upgrade will be posted to this list if and when required.
