The Institute of Engineering Surveying and Space Geodesy (IESSG) at the 
University of Nottingham has three fully-funded PhD studentships available 
now in the following research areas:

•	Developing A High-Performance, Low-Cost Mobile 3D Laser Scanner: In 
collaboration with Riegl UK Ltd.  

•	Local Augmentation Differential Integrity: A Pinpoint Faraday 
Industrial CASE studentship in collaboration with EADS Astrium.  

•	Development of a Personal, Low-Cost, Integrated Positioning System 
for Security Applications: a Pinpoint Faraday Industrial CASE studentship 
in collaboration with QinetiQ.    

The University of Nottingham is one of the most popular Universities in the 
UK and the IESSG is an internationally recognised centre of excellence in 
research and teaching across a range of positioning, navigation and 
surveying disciplines.  These fully funded PhD studentships cover fees (at 
the UK/EU student rate) and a generous stipend for three years.
