Wokingham District Council, Corporate IT GIS Technical Assistant Scale 5: £17,922 - £19,656 Permanent, full time, 37 hours per week – flexi-scheme This is an ideal role for someone with good GIS skills wishing to start a GIS based career with a Local Authority. You will be based in the Central GIS team located in Corporate IT services. You will need to have sound experience of using MapInfo Professional. Some knowledge of BS7666 and initiatives such as Ordnance Survey’s positional accuracy improvement programme would be advantageous. Wokingham is a go-ahead Authority that recognises Corporate GIS as essential to its business processes and service delivery and uses the web- based GIS applications, PlanWeb and PlanAccess to ensure full corporate use of GIS. This role will include supporting in excess of 400 users across the Authority and working with the service areas to improve the accuracy of their GIS data.
