THE HIGHLAND COUNCIL Planning and Development Service SMR Development Officer HQ, £20,211 * £25,116 (3 yr fixed term post) We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable person to help develop new systems for the Highland Council*s Sites and Monuments Record database, which holds over 40,000 records covering one third of the land mass of Scotland. Based in Inverness you will be a key member of the project team managing the identification and introduction of a new software system and will be responsible on a day to day basis for the management of the SMR through this exciting and challenging phase. This will include ensuring the validity and accuracy of the data and its migration between the old and new systems, and its efficient interaction with our existing GIS software. You will join a small team of four, with a full and varied workload. You will be qualified to degree level in archaeology or similar, or IT or GIS with experience of working with databases and GIS, and a high level of proficiency and experience in computing.
