client is a major player in the fast-growing Business Intelligence market. Their business is providing insightful
information to their customers, through innovative mapping-based solutions for
the property, retail and leisure industries.
Continued
growth and a broadening of their customer base has created a superb job
opportunity for an experienced spatial data analyst with a GIS
background.
What
does the role involve?
To
assist in the processing and maintenance of the various spatial databases that
the client uses The role will demand that procedures for the whole lifecycle of
a dataset are established, from the receipt of the data through to the final
delivery of the data. Additionally the position will involve the management and
resolution of data related queries.
Essential
Skills;
▪
Spatial
data handling skills, ideally with experience in handling
geographic/geodemographic or market analysis data. Someone possessing experience or an
interest in retail and leisure business will particularly enjoy this
work.
▪
Comfortable
with large amounts of geodata.
Solid RDBMS experience, Access, SQL Server etc.
▪
Analytical,
able to see into data
▪
Thorough
knowledge of GIS is required.
Ideally but not necessarily in ArcGIS
▪
Foundation
programming skills to write small analytical, manipulative and display
programs. One of VBA, VB or SQL
will suffice
▪
MS
Office, in particular Access.
▪
Good
written and spokencommunication skills.
Person

ethic.

resourceful and self-motivating.
