An exciting opportunity has arisen on our Corporate Address Gazetteer (CAG) team.

The post of CAG Technician is full time and reports to the Data Management Officer and through that person to the GIS Manager. The CAG Technician will play a fundamental corporate role and will be the first point of contact for changes and additions to CAG. There will also be an ongoing role of assisting with the integration of other corporate databases with CAG and the development of CAG-related services and web pages.

The post holder will hold an HND level qualification in GIS, IT or a related subject and would ideally meet the following criteria:

• Possess a good knowledge of GIS concepts and Ordnance Survey mapping;
• Have experience of the use and management of address data;
• Have experience of using digital maps and GIS software (ESRI products);
• Can demonstrate a high degree of precision when working with data;
• Have very good IT skills, especially in the use of Microsoft Excel and Access
• Have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
