Atkins Geospatial Solutions are a leading independent supplier of Geographic Information Systems and desktop mapping solutions. Due to our growing success, we are looking for a committed and enthusiastic candidate to fill a GIS consultant’s role at our Bristol office. The successful candidate will have two + years industry experience. Essential to this new position is familiarity with GIS concepts, including co-ordinate transformations, spatial data types, and OGIS principles. Skills required include software development for spatial applications: .NET and/or Java, and Web interface development - Flash, HTML, ASP.NET. Also desirable to this position is experience in ArcGIS programming, including ArcSDE, and software development within a structured environment (e.g. PRINCE2). The successful candidate will be have the potential to fulfil a high-profile consultancy role, with client contact and business development responsibilities. Ideally, he/she will be able to bring experience from a relevant industry sector (environment, water, telecomms). We offer an attractive package with pension scheme.
