What does the job involve?

The client designs, builds and integrates spatially-referenced Decision Support Systems for several markets, most notably Local and Central Government. They continue to dominate the UK GIS market through product innovation and state of the art web delivery mechanisms.

What skills must I possess?

YOU MUST ENJOY SYSTEMS AND PROGRAMMING. You should have fluency in modern OO development tools and methods, in particular the .Net/C# or ASP/VB.NET approach, though C++ or Java will be considered.  Candidates with some exposure to MFC, Active Template Library, COM Technology or ActiveX will be of particular interest.

Your career direction should be towards web-hosting and associated tools such as IIS, ASP.NET, XML or GML

Good knowledge of RDBMS or OO data management technology, Oracle and/or SQL Server preferred.

What qualifications do I need?

A first or second degree in GIS or Software Engineering. Some practical software experience or strong evidence of extracurricular work.

What personal attributes should I possess?

* Willingness to join the business front-line and link arms with the sales and support team.
* Eye for detail, inquiring mind, “Can do” attitude.
* Versatile, resourceful and self-motivating.
