ComSine is a UK SME involved in satellite communications and GIS/spatial
data systems, including the use of satellite imagery.  For the GIS part of
the business we are looking for an experienced software developer to join
our small, but enthusiastic team of engineers.  Currently we have ongoing
projects concerned with: developing a web access system for online satellite
imagery access; providing a wireless weather data delivery service for the
leisure marine community; prototyping a PDA-based application for accessing
spatial data resources over satcom links; and developing web services for
the online geo-processing of satellite data.

The successful candidate must have several years of relevant experience in
some or all of the following:

Java, J2E developments, XML/GML, servlets, JBOSS, Struts, Cocoon, Hibernate,
DBMS (e.g. Oracle, MySQL, Postgres), application of OGC standards (WMS, WFS,
WCS and WFS implementations), Flash, Python, C, C++.

Experience of the application of software engineering standards and
methodologies is also required (e.g. UML, ESA ECSS, OO, structured, etc.).
The successful candidate will also be numerate (a physics, mathematics or
computer science background is preferred), with good verbal and written
communication skills, be capable of running small development teams and
enjoy interacting with customers.  An interest in, and experience of
business development, would also be useful.
