A day to celebrate hands on archaeology in Yorkshire, looking at how archaeology can be used in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics curriculum, and also in out of school learning. If you want ideas for exciting archaeological activities at your museum, this training day is for you.

11.00               Building a half size Stonehenge – Julian Richards, TV archaeologist

 

12.50               Lunch, Beer, Activities and chat

 

1.45                 Mummy wrapping – Alison Bodley, Creative Minds

 

2.00                 Workshops    Choose from:

(a) Running a National Archaeology Week event /Starting a YAC Branch, or

                                    (b) Working with the Portable Antiquities Scheme

·         Rievaulx Abbey Courtyard Garden – working with children with special needs – English Heritage, Kim Naylor-Vane
