ALM London training event:
EVERY CHILD MATTERS: Addressing the learning needs of 'Looked After' children and young people via archives, libraries and museums
Venue: The Foundling Museum, 40 Brunswick Square, Camden, London WC1N 1AZ
Dates: Tuesday 6th December 2005; & repeated on Thursday 8th December 2005
Cost: £50 + VAT per delegate

ALM London - the regional development agency for archives, libraries and museums in the capital - will be running two, one-day training events on the government's Every Child Matters Green Paper. Both events will be taking place at The Foundling Museum (Camden, London) on Tuesday 6th and Thursday 8th December 2005, from 9.30am-4.30pm.

Each session provides an opportunity for archive, library and museum practitioners to explore the key proposals and impacts of the Every Child Matters policy and outcomes framework, and relate this information to the provision of learning opportunities for children and young people via the heritage sector. A specific focus of this training day will be active involvement in group discussion and creative learning activities designed to help delegates gain new insights and effective strategies for supporting the educational and personal development needs of 'Looked After Children.' Both sessions will be facilitated by the freelance consultant Jenny Mitchell (founder and manager of the Inner Vision Project - an arts educational project specifically for children and young people with experience of public care) .

ALM London currently has 10 places available for the event on Tuesday 6th December, and a further 8 places remaining for the repeat session on Thursday 8th December.

If you would like to find out more about these training days, or download a booking form from the ALM London website, please click on the following link to our Training and Workforce Development page:

Please also note that although priority was initially given to staff working in the London region, we are pleased to receive bookings from archive, library and museum practitioners based outside the capital. All the remaining spaces will be allocated in receipt-date order.

If you are interested in attending one of these training days and have not yet returned your completed booking form, please contact ALM London's administration team as soon as possible so that a place can be reserved for you.
