NUMERACY ENERGISERS:
FOR TEACHERS OF LEARNERS DEVELOPING NUMERACY SKILLS THROUGH WORK-BASED OR VOCATIONAL TRAINING
28 - 30 January 2005, Bath
25 - 27 February 2005, Coventry
11 - 13 March 2005, Leeds

NIACE's first series of Numeracy Energisers for Adult and Community educators proved to be extremely popular with practitioners. This series has been designed specifically for tutors
        * Who feel that their own maths is wobbly
        * Who haven't yet achieved a Level 3 qualification in Numeracy
        * Are anxious about their teaching in this area

In particular, these Energisers are appropriate for
        * Basic skills tutors who are trying to make their teaching vocationally relevant
        * Vocational tutors who have been asked to include Numeracy in their teaching
        * Tutors whose first love isn't Numeracy

These events will provide participants with the opportunity to
        * Develop some confidence in their own mathematical thinking and numerical skills
        * Acquire some methods for helping learners with varied backgrounds, perspectives and experiences of numeracy/maths
        * Tackle specific parts of the Core Curriculum in ways that are relevant to learners preparing for, or in employment
        * Have some fun - yes, fun! - while doing the above

What others have said:
'Please organise more events like this'.
'This was the best and most useful numeracy workshop I have ever attended.'
'It has set me off on a new path'.
