Student non attendence when they have note takers
I currently have a student who will have to take time off regularly due to her disability. She is applying for DSA funding for a notetaker who can take notes for her if she cannot attend. I don't see how this is an advantage over other students, she is disadvantaged by the fact that she cannot attend herself.
However, in the case of students who need a notetaker for other reasons and then do not attend a class, at South Bank we allow for this to happen on two occasions. If the student doesn't turn up more than twice, after that we ask the note taker to contact us and we take it from there.
