Hi, Everyone.

We at the RNC, The UK’s leading specialist College for VI, provide a training service for ‘Training the Trainer’ in assistive technology.

We provide an on campus programme tailored to the client needs, based around a series of modules that not only covers enabling technology direct, but the whole aspect of low vision awareness and if needed sighted guide modules. This gives your staff an overall understanding of all the skills needed for assistive technology user training.

These courses are available to order, and because of the intense nature of the training, and the amount of time we allow for practical work, are limited to 10 delegates per course.

All our courses are devised from the unique balance the RNC has in being a both a large user of assistive technology and the development work we do for both website accessibility and software development.

Subject: Training for the Trainer

Hi all

Was just wondering if anyone knew if there was such training aimed at people who will be training students to use specialist software packages – DBT, Window-Eyes, THR&W and Inspiration?

I guess the best place to start would be to contact the manufacturers but I was just wondering if people knew of other companies who offer such a service and if people have had similar training, what it has been like.

I don’t actually want to be trained to use the software, I’m after training on becoming a software trainer.

Thanks

Tim
