Please would you tell me what are 'crystal hearing loops for non hearing
aid users'?
Do you mean 'soundfield systems' which are based on a loud speaker
arrangement?

Hi,

We use a variety of hearing loops, including ordinary personal loops,
conversor loops (which allow greater participation in discussions),
hearing helpers and crystal hearing loops (for non hearing aid wearers)
and
portable room loops. The use of each loop depends entirely on the
needs of
the learner requiring it and the size of the room.

Subject: Portable hearing loops

Dear All,

I have been asked to find out what provision other institutions have
made for students with hearing impairments with respect to hearing
loops.

Many of our hearing impaired students have their own individual systems
/ support. However, I am particularly interested in the use of portable
systems for teaching rooms/ small lecture rooms which do not have a
permanent system installed.

Any advice / information would be welcome.

Many thanks and have a good weekend.
