Hi Christine,

If a student had run out of DSA and was eligible for ALF then yes, we
could use ALF for that support here as well.

Can anyone confirm that ALF can be used for additional tutorial support?
I'm having difficulty convincing the administrator here that its an
admissible cost.

        Hi Rachel,

We really struggle with students not getting or not having
enough DSA here as well. Of course, you could try the Access to
Learning Fund, you should be able to get £3,500 from them.

I would also try the Snowdon Award Scheme, look them up on the
net, if you can't find them then e mail me off list and I should be able
to find their details, two of our students received grants from them
last year.

        Kind regards

        Pauline

        Hello All

I think this topic caused some discussion recently but I
wondered if anyone can help....

We have a profoundly deaf student who is taking a f/t MA in fine
art and he requires:

        Electronic Notetaker
        BSL Interpreter
        Additional tuition support

The postgraduate DSA is woefully short of the amount of finance
required to cover this support, which I know many of you are aware of!
Can anyone suggest/advise how they have 'topped up' the funding and
which, if any, charitable organisations have been applied to?

Grateful for ideas/information on this, either here or offline
to my email address below.
        Thanks
