Sounds like Meares-Irlen syndrome.  There's lots of information if you
Google.  The 'river' symptoms relate to perceived movement of text where
it can appear as if the text is separated by 'rivers' of white
background or bunched text.

We have a student come to us with river blindness and he is experiencing
blurred vision, difficulties with reading and computing. Has anyone
supported a student with this and what did you do? He is an
