I have heard of an anorexic student who is considering applying for DSA to get the assistance of a mentor.

Apparently they have been on in-patients before, but are now an out-patient but finding it difficult to cope in the catered halls (no room in non-catered halls). They find it a challenge to go into the dining hall, and would jut like the support of a mentor to go into this area with them and be with them when they eat. At the moment they are hardly eating because of their worries. The mentor would not have to encourage them to eat, just be there to talk generally.

I would be interested in hearing your opinions as to whether this might be funded as a mentor out of the Non-Medical Helper of DSA, or whether you consider it to be too medically-related and not related to their studies….

Thanks
