Perhaps it's a misunderstanding but surely 'key texts' are texts that all
students arte expected to purchase. I tend to use the tern 'extra textbooks'
although it is by no means universally agreed that the DSA can be used to purchase
any books unless the student is physically unable to get to the library.
Quite a few LEAS will not agree to fund any books for dyslexic students.

As long as DfES delegates to the LEAs such anomolies will exist. I'm not
going to get in an argument over this as it's what some LEAs adopt as their
interpretation of the guidelines, however, personally I'm not that inclined to argue
with them on this issue.
