Ultimately, you can't supply what you don't have, but you would have to
come up with an explanation as to why those documents were destroyed or
lost, and my advice is to be as open and honest as you can.

I would have said that it depends whether they were lost or destroyed in
the normal course of business or in an attempt to avoid disclosure. One
is not illegal under the DPA, the other is.
