I believe that Subject X's details cannot be released without Subject Xs permission. If Subject X doesn't agree then Subject Y will have to start legal proceedings, including raising a court order to require you to release the information without permission. We are involved in something similar at the moment relating to an insurance settlement by Subject Ys lawyers re loss of earnings by Subject X .In this case however Subject X has given permission for details to be released to Subject Y. Now Y's solicitor, through their investigations have found that Student X is working and studying and have approached us for information regarding Course type, start date, end date etc. The solicitors have also mentioned that if the information is not released they would try and obtain a court order to get the information.
