I have no issue with cross posting when I see a posting that has been
thought about and that is relevant to the group into which it is posted.

This one has gone right past me with a Whooooooshhhh!

Please would the author explain to us what this is and why it is relevant
instead of just blasting it out? This feel to me like mindless shotgun
SPAM. The apology at the top feels like "no apology intended"

Now, if I am doing the poster a disservice, that is fine. A decent
explanation will remove my raised hackles. But so far this feels as
relevant as trying to sell me shoes because it is presumed that I have feet.

-- CALL FOR PAPERS - Deadline for submissions (Last CFP): 14 March 2005 --

IADIS Cognitive Performance Support 2005 Conference
(http://www.iadis.org/multi2005/cps2005.asp)
part of the IADIS Virtual Multi Conference on Computer Science and
Information Systems (MCCSIS 2005)
11 - 29 April 2005
(http://www.iadis.org/multi2005)

* Conference Background and Goals

This conference aims at providing the scientific basis for the community of
system designers and critical users. The objective of this conference is the
scientific cross fertilization between disciplines such as cognitive
science, ergonomics, system design and task performance analysis. Both the
theories on human-machine interaction, task performance and mental
functioning need systematic research in order to improve productivity.

This conference has a unique concept: it is a scientific conference hosted
virtually. This means that the quality of a scientific conference (with the
peer reviewed submissions, the publication in a book and CD with ISBN, the
possibility of best papers being considered for publication as extended
versions in journals) comes together with the benefit of being at your
office or at home and taking part in it at any time during its three week
duration. You choose which sessions to attend from the conference themes
offered and you can tailor your best schedule.

* Format of the Conference
The conference will comprise invited talks and oral presentations. The
proceedings of the conference will be published in the form of a book. The
best paper authors will be invited to publish extended versions of their
papers in selected Journals.

* Types of Submissions
Full and Short Papers, Posters/Demonstrations, Tutorials, Panels and
Doctoral Consortium. All submissions are subject to a blind refereeing
process.

* Topics related to the Cognitive Performance Support conference are of
interest:
• Conceptual support systems
• Epistemic systems, ontology and hermeneutics • Information system analysis
and design • Adaptive systems • Application domains for adaptive systems •
User modeling and user-centered system design • Cognitive ergonomics • Task
performance support systems • Communication systems design • Spatial
awareness and behavior feedback • Ecological and evolutionary factors in
distributed/shared cognition and awareness

* Important Dates:
- Submission Deadline (Last CFP) - 14 March 2005
- Notification to Authors (Last CFP) - 28 March 2005
- Final Camera-Ready Submission and Early Registration - Until 23 March
2005
