 I was always against ID cards and unified national databases. I found the
governments arguments in favour to be spurious to say the least.

I agree that the example is slightly OTT but the idea no longer seems as far
fetched as it did a few years ago.

I hope that the DPA is sufficent to halt such 'advances' but I don’t feel
confident that it will.

I used to be reasonably pro-ID card, but over the past few years I have
realised that whilst the "demonstration" above is a little OTT, everything
seems to be moving that way.

It's very funny in a scary way, but hopefully the DPA in this country will
go a long way to stop it. Will it? Hmmm.....
