Do not doubt it. This is just for those who validate the lists to sell on.
The others just spam and spam and spam. There is no remedy.
I come back to Permission Based Marketing and also introduce Whitelisting.
But a whitelist will often list things like this email list. Or (eg) a
Yahoo Group.
Since the return on Spam is of the order of 0.001% it makes sense to spam a
group, getting several orders of magnitude covered in one go. And here I
come back to my unanswered accusation to "Nat Alia Reis" who has, as you
will notice, not made ANY reply whatsoever to any comments in this group,
who contributes so far precisely nothing and who sends what I perceive to be
SPAM to the entire 520 or so souls on a regular basis. Cross posting the
same spam to multiple groups saves time and effort, and the ROI starts to
rise. 10 sent means 0.01 responses. 100 sent means 0.1 responses. 1,000
sent means one response, one ticket sold, one pack of body enhancement parts
sold, one bank balance transmitted to Nigeria. This group provides just
over half a person. Add FOI to it and one person buys something. Etc. And
the effort is negligible.
Now, if my email to this group says occasionally "I absolutely forbid any
commercial messages to be sent to this email address", what then?
