Alcohol and Drug Foundation – Queensland (ADFQ) was established in 1974, and is the largest specialist not-for-profit organisation in the State which offers advocacy, programs and services aimed at alcohol and drug harm prevention. ADFQ has a client base exceeding 10 000, eight offices in South-East Queensland, and over 100 staff. The current CEO is retiring after 20 years.

The Chief Executive Officer is accountable for the leadership, management and growth of ADFQ. Reporting to a voluntary Board, the CEO manages a team of employees and volunteers in providing excellence in service delivery to clients.

Specific responsibilities include:

• developing and implementing strategic plans to achieve operational and financial objectives;
  
• providing high quality visible leadership and direction to senior managers;
  
• ensuring that processes, policies and practices are aligned with the goals and objectives of the organisation and are compliant with legislative requirements;
  
• effectively promoting ADFQ to all stakeholders.
  
  
  The position of Chief Executive Officer provides a significant opportunity to contribute to the further development and performance of this well-regarded organisation. This role requires demonstrated successful experience at senior management level. Experience in the not-for-profit or health services sectors would be an advantage. Keen commercial acumen and financial management skills are essential. Relevant tertiary qualifications in business or management will be highly regarded.
