Alcohol and Drug Foundation – Queensland (ADFQ) was
established in 1974, and is the largest specialist not-for-profit
organisation in the State which offers advocacy, programs and services
aimed at alcohol and drug harm prevention. ADFQ has a client base
exceeding 10 000, eight offices in South-East Queensland, and over 100
staff. The current CEO is retiring after 20 years.
The Chief Executive Officer is accountable for the leadership,
management and growth of ADFQ. Reporting to a voluntary Board, the CEO
manages a team of employees and volunteers in providing excellence in
service delivery to clients.
Specific responsibilities include:
- developing and implementing strategic plans to achieve
operational and financial objectives;
- providing high quality visible leadership and direction
to senior managers;
- ensuring that processes, policies and practices are
aligned with the goals and objectives of the organisation and are
compliant with legislative requirements;
- effectively promoting ADFQ to all stakeholders.
The position of Chief Executive Officer provides a significant
opportunity to contribute to the further development and performance of
this well-regarded organisation. This role requires demonstrated
successful experience at senior management level. Experience in the
not-for-profit or health services sectors would be an advantage. Keen
commercial acumen and financial management skills are essential.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in business or management will be
highly regarded. Senior executives with exceptional interpersonal
and communication skills, enthusiasm and integrity are invited to
