Graduates in classics, etc. are reminded of the existence of the Wiedemann Fund. I quote from the fund’s rubric: Grants from the fund are available to assist with the costs of visits to universities, libraries or museums in the UK or in Eire. Any student taking a taught or research postgraduate course related to the ancient Greek or Roman world at any university in the UK or Eire is eligible to apply. Grants will be made mainly for the costs of travel, though in some cases assistance may also be given with accommodation and subsistence costs. It is expected that applicants will normally also seek a contribution to their costs from their own institution. The trustees are particularly keen to support attendance by individuals or groups at seminars or conferences. However, grants for attendance at the Classical Asociation Annual Conference or at the Annual Meeting of Postgraduates in Ancient History (AMPAH) will be made only in exceptional cases. Grants do not normally exceed GBP 100, and any individual student is normally eligible for one grant only in any one academic year. Please note that the Fund has moved to a new website: http://www.thomaswiedemann.org.uk Applications should be made by means of the short online form on the website. Please direct any queries to myself, off list, at the address below. Best wishes, Jonathan Prag ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dr Jonathan R.W.
