A concealed irony is that the cover is by my ex-wife and the entire book is
dedicated to my American ex-fiancee.
A double irony is that ex-Mary was so bamjaxed by the response to the cover
that she sold me the original for £25 pounds.
Normally, my former wife doesn't underprice her paintings, so this was a
snip.
Even my publisher howled with outrage when he found out what I'd conned Mary
into selling me the original artwork for.
