I have been lurking for some time... but I do read the digests... sometimes i skim / skip as I see who has posted or get the feel for a thread but I am surprised that the present volume is seen as excessive seems to me it's been much higher in the past as a digest reader I have a related request it's a familiar one; but i cannot understand, really, why it is necessary to have to keep repeating it, beyond laziness - can we all TRIM our messages - assume people have intelligence and skill to go back and reread... all it needs is a little bit of the previous message for context-setting in nearly all cases of course, if someone is making a detailed response then longer quoting is needed when one is receiving messages one by one, generally the rubbish is at the end; but in the digest it clogs everything and makes reading difficult Date: Tue, 19 Apr 2005 17:10:48 +0100 From: Nima <[log in to unmask]> Subject: Please scale back list contributions >at the moment i am sure i am not the only one who really cannot cope with the sheer volume of BritPo emails coming through here, and i urge retraint.
