The problem could be in your PushConfigUpdates batch file. Have a look in it and see where the Java home is pointing to. On page 33, step 7, the instructions ask you to make sure that Blackboard is working ok AFTER having changed the java path in the bb.config.properties file to point to the new Java 5.0 location. This is BEFORE upgrading to 6.3. This instruction cannot be carried out because Tomcat in 6.2.x.x will not work with Java 5.0. Our TSM recommended we just continue with the upgrade. The 6.3 update will give you a version of Tomcat compatible with J2SE 5.0. PS. If anyone else is doing this, I've heard that 6.3 was developed using J2SE 5.0 version 3. I see that version 4 is now available on the Sun site. Personally I'll be installing version 3 just to be certain there aren't any new features in version 4 that Bb doesn't like.
