Migration to BB6

Hi Najib,

This is the approach I have taken so far also. It does give a much chopped down list of ‘my courses’ however one thing im looking at doing very soon is making use of the Building Blocks from VLE Genius to effectively replace the my courses module with a nice structured list of ‘My Courses’ One thing im very keen on is the ability of providing sections in the Module to list courses from last year and courses form this year in distinctive sections.

VLE Genius also offer a replacement for the announcements module which allows users to hide announcements, this makes for a much more manageable view within My institution. Heres the link to their pages:

Course Console - http://www.vlegenius.com/cgi-bin/courseconsole.pl

Announcement Console - http://www.vlegenius.com/cgi-bin/announcementconsole.pl

Hope this helps,

Cheers

Anthony

Many thanks for all replies, one of our e-learning coordinators spotted the Quick view module and I have enabled it instead of the full blown ‘my courses’ module.

Najib.

Hi Najib,

If there is a way I'd like to know about it! I haven't been able to find out how to globally adjust this module's settings. I think the only solution would be to use an alternative module (you could look in the Building Block catalogue) and not use My Courses.

Unless anybody knows different, I think this is correct.

Hi all,

We have just moved to BB6, we seem to have announcements displayed on the ‘My Institution’ tab in the My Courses window, this clutters the display i.e. showing all the announcements and courses for the user. Is there any way of globally disabling the announcement from the My Courses window (ditto My announcements window).

Many thanks in advance for feedback.
