E.A - I can't get past the cover page of the TechDis article, is it just me?
(clicking on the "contents page" link seems to reload the same page.

However from what I remember of the piece most of it is indeed still very
much the case.  There have been quite a lot of developments in this arena in
the last 12 months or so but whether they are improvements or simply changes
is debatable.  While connectivity and interoperability improve specialist
devices are mostly oversized and unattractive.
My opinion only not a professional perspective.
