I am currently researching the way in which institutions have tackled/are tacking the implementation of impact assessments and what tool/methodology is being used. I would be interested in any information available on work that is being undertaken to develop a generic IA tool which can be used across all the equality strands. It would also be interesting to find out what approach to IA you are taking, for example are you carrying out race equality/disability equality IA's together and as part of the same process or is each being carried out as a separate piece of work? I am keen to minimise any duplication of effort, particularly in view of upcoming gender and age equality legislation, but am also conscious that the areas may need a discrete approach too. If you have carried out race equality IA's are you adopting the same methodology or have you changed it/plan to change it for disability IA's and other areas? I'm happy to collate responses and to circulate them to all contributors. Please reply off line. Thanks for your help.
