A local
endocrine surgeon asked if I could explain a possible molecular basis for an
apparent association between Hyperparathyroidism and Polycythaemia
- it seems there are some case reports in the literature of such an
association and the polycythaemia resolves post
surgery (I'm relying on his account, haven't read the papers). Is
anyone aware of this association or can offer a mechanism
Thanks
Joe
