I just wanted to remind you about an excellent patient information website called Lab Tests Online UK: www.labtestsonline.org.uk

 

This is an off-shoot of the American website (so remember to include the UK in the URL or you will go to the US site!) and is designed specifically to help UK patients better understand the many clinical lab tests that are part of routine care as well as diagnosis and treatment of a broad range of conditions and diseases. It provides:

·         Detailed descriptions of tests

·         Descriptions of illness, cross referenced to relevant rests

·         News on advances on laboratory testing

·         Links to other free internet services that can help answer questions about patients health and treatment

 

Mike Hallworth, Chairman of Lab Tests Online UK,  is Clinical Biochemist here at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and is happy to hear from anybody who has any queries.
