Dear colleauges, I have sad news to you. Johannes Lepiksaar has passed away on the night between 6th and 7th april at the age of 97. For many of us he has been teacher, inspirator and very god friend. He shared his great knowledge and cared for our development as archaeozoologists. He was the spirit behind the working groups for fish and birds within ICAZ. During his years at the Museum of Natural History in Gothenburg, Sweden, many colleauges, from professors to students, visited him to learn and they were met by the warm generousity of Johannes and his wife Nina. After his retirement their home was open for visitors. There will be an obituary in coming newsletter from ICAZ and on the home page of the Natural history museum in Gothenburg.
