We are currently developing a web database of lecture
arrangements. This is to enable students to view up to
date information about their lectures, including time and place,
and the name of the lecturer.

The issue has been raised as to whether the website should be
restricted to our own institution or made publicly available.
It has been suggested that it should be restricted for Data
Protection reasons - because it includes lecturers' names.

I would be interested to know what the situation is in other
Universities. I should mention that the lectures website
will not include synopses, reading lists, or other
teaching materials, which are provided in a different way,
and can be separately restricted.

Thanks in advance for any help

Jill
