If your display panels were created by a designer on Mac or PC, you should be able have them output as a pdf rather than having to have them photographed. The later versions of Acrobat will allow cut'n'paste of images and text into such programs as Dreamweaver or Photoshop. But however you get these components, you really have to look at how the information is best delivered on a website. There will doubtless be things you are able to do on a webpage that couldn't have been done on a display panel, so I would look at it as an opportunity to provide enhanced information rather than try and replicate what was in the museum.
