Dear All,

Waterfronts are one of the richest like cities (in developed countries)
and among the poorest like fishing villages (in undeveloped countries)
such as the recent Indian ocean tsunami and earthquakes had affected
and yet they are the most vulnerable environments.

Technical terms like liquefaction, sediment transport, scouring,
erosion, tsunami, cyclones, earthquakes, flooding, breaching, levees,
sea defence structures, hydrodynamics, risks and reliability, complex
fluid-soil interactions etc might be applicable.

I wish to find out if your university is carrying out active research
into this areas perhaps some involving coastal, hydrology and soil
mechanics.

Best Regards,

Parminder Singh
