Shoulder Rehabilitation course is an introductory level course ideal for
junior physiotherapists, junior osteopaths and final year students
interested in developing a strong understanding of sports related shoulder
injury rehabilitation. All delegates will be issued with an attendance
certificate.

 

Academic Level: Students, ideal for junior physiotherapists and osteopaths

 

Course speakers: Camilla Curtis and Trish Formby have extensive experience
in treating all aspects of sports related injuries; they will be mainly
using video and technique demonstration, time will also be set aside for
discussion.  

 

 

* Evening Course: Core Stability: Is it a low-load or high load issue? *

The term core stability is in wide spread use in both the therapeutic world
and in the exercise and fitness industry. Currently this term is used to
describe an extreme range of different training situations, from small
non-functional activation exercises of the deep abdominal muscles through to
functional training situations and even including lifting weights while
standing on a physio ball. 

 

Academic level: Physiotherapists and other movement therapists, exercise
professionals including students of the above.

 

Course speaker: Mark Comerford is a renowned musculoskeletal Physiotherapist
and lecturer and has taught courses on dynamic stability and muscle balance,
sports physiotherapy and therapeutic exercise throughout the world. 

 


* Day Course: First Aid: Pitch-side and Practice in Schools *           


Date: Sunday 3rd April 2005            Venue: tbc, London             Fee:

This one-day course provides an ideal opportunity for everyone with basic
first aid experience to

get a more in depth knowledge of pitch-side procedures.  Course delegates
will have a unique insight into pitch-side and practice techniques with the
focus being on sporting injuries sustained by children and young adults.  

 

Academic level: Nurses, Physiotherapist & osteopaths, coaches, training
specialists, anyone involved in Sports.

 

Course speaker: Mark Bonson is a qualified HSE First Aid Instructor and
Sports Coach.  He is also registered First Aider at many rugby team games.
