It takes until pages 150-151 to get down to Christian use...
and, as suspected, there is nary a mention of the "clouds"
as "nimbus." Lots of mention of the sun... in Egyptian use.
In Sumero-Akkadian, it's clouds and sun -- plus high place.
Nor is there even a passing reference to the Christian application
by the Syriac parties of the "the hand of god".-- or the
Akkadian > Western sign of godhead in the arch.

Must say that with the incorporation of the Syriac and the
Sumero-Akkadian materials -- someone (not me -- I have
too much else to work on) could produce a definitive, really
authoritative account of both shape and meaning.
