'Trading in knowledge? The
World Trade Organisation and Libraries'
Poorly understood and little thought
about, the effects of globalisation and international trade
agreements on libraries
are of increasing concern to EBLIDA
and IFLA, which follow these issues on your behalf. The Seminar 'Trading in knowledge? The World Trade
Organisation and Libraries'
organised by EBLIDA in collaboration with SCONUL, to be held at
the Møller Centre in Cambridge (UK) on 2 - 3
March 2005,
will provide an excellent
opportunity for
those who manage libraries of all kinds, or
represent associations and government to learn about the potential impact
of trade agreements on the delivery of library and information services. It is
also an opportunity for you to contribute your views to influence the policy
and future advocacy
of EBLIDA and its member associations.
The Conference Programme,
Registration Form and other practical information are available at the SCONUL
website
at http://www.sconul.ac.uk/event_conf/WTOConference/wtoprogramme Participants are encouraged to register before 31 December 2004
due to space limitation,
although registration will also be possible
later on, subject to availability. We are very much looking
forward to meeting you in Cambridge!!
