has developed a new Archive Apprenticeship Framework which aims to provide
training and development opportunities to the archives workforce and meet
the future demands and skills required by the profession.'

'Granddad, what do you remember about the Gentle Giant?: Today (Thursday
18th November) Wrexham school children took part in the first of a series of
oral history workshops, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF), about
the life and times of John Charles, arguably the greatest footballer Wales
has ever produced.  HLF awarded a grant of £42,900 to The Gentle Giant
Trust, enabling the Trust to set up 180 oral history workshops for young
people from 60 schools across Wales .... At least ten interviews from each
school group will be transcribed and transferred onto a CD and eventually
contribute to a book. The CDs will be held at the National Library of Wales,
and archives of all local authorities in Wales to ensure access for the
public in the future.'
